For Tourism in Lisbon Region

The Real Dreams participated, as a stakeholder, in the meeting on the Strategic Tourism Plan for Lisbon, invited by Associação de Turismo de Lisboa – Visitors and Convention Bureau. This was another opportunity to present a set of contributions that aim to help positioning Lisbon on the path to a new level for Tourism Excellence.

The Associação de Turismo de Lisboa, together with the Entidade Regional de Turismo de Lisboa, is developing the work of producing the Strategic Plan for Tourism of the Lisbon Region for the period 2015-2019, having used the services of international consulting firm Roland Berger.

The meeting had the following agenda:

1. Discussion of the development of tourism in the region in recent years

i. Evolution of the available capacity

ii. Development of demand

iii. Profile analysis of visitors

iv. Analysis of the visitors motivations

2. Discussion of Tourism development opportunities in the region

i. Market segments and outbound markets to develop

ii. Products to be developed and in assets that can be leveraged

iii. Most appropriate promotion model

3. Discussion of current micro-centralities of Lisbon

i. Analysis development in recent years

ii. Future development opportunities identification

4. Discussion of the main assets anchor of Lisbon

i. Analysis development in recent years

ii. Future development opportunities identification

5. Discussion of the development plans of the Lisbon Tourism sector for years to come

6. Other matters considered relevant to the Strategic Plan

It is anticipated that the final version of the document is available in October 2014.
